A Python function for Autodesk Maya
“blinn1” —> “window_blinn1”
The shader name “blinn1” becomes “window_blinn1”.
This is for when you want to keep the node names as they are and just add a prefix. An example would be renaming everything associated with a window in the scene ‘window_pCube1’ or ‘window_blinn1’. Select all the nodes you want to rename. Run the program and write the new prefix in the window that appears and everything selected will have the new prefix as well as their original name suffix.
You can copy and paste the entire text file into a Python tab in the Script Editor, select it all and hit CTRL + ENTER to run it.
